Wire Drawing Setup

For manufacturing Pedal Axle, Hub Axle, Crank Forging, and many more bicycle related items, M.S. Round is our Raw Material which is our bought out product & which we are buying with a specific chemical composition. The M.S. round then pickled by pickling process then drawn with a die according to required specifications of Pedal Axle & Hub Axle. This is called Wire Drawing Process.

The wire-drawing process consists of pointing the rod, threading the pointed end through a Die/Cutter, and attaching the end to a drawing block. The block, made to revolve by an electric motor, pulls the lubricated rod through the die, reducing it in diameter and increasing its length. If required, fine wire is made by a multiple-block machine, because the reduction cannot be performed in a single draft.

The cold drawing of wire is an important and special sector of steelmaking. It produces wire in hundreds of sizes and shapes and within a spectrum of physical properties unmatched by other steel products. Wire is also produced with many types of surface finish.

Drawing consists of pulling metal through a die. One type is wire drawing. The diameter reduction that can be achieved in such a die is limited, but several dies in series can be used to obtain the desired reduction. Deep drawing starts with a disk of metal and ends up with a cup by pushing the metal through a hole (Die).

After getting a required size (Wire Diameter), these lengths are then cut down into several pieces (Steel Blocks) of required lengths which are then used for hot forging.
